Women in Metal Documentary

I just found this mini documentary, and I think it should be much much more of this kind! The subject is extremely interesting and I feel it is very important to document both genders personal histories around the Metal scene. I am indeed very exited about this video, because it is needed out there.
The information about girls and women in the more extreme Metal scene is hardly to find.. or exist at all. Especially made by other women. Hope more like this will follow in the near future.

This video is presented like this on Youtube:

"The HIStory was HERstory too. In Heavy Metal it wasn´t different.
So, why wasn´t it so clear for all headbangers?
Maybe because it wasn't told by the women before.
Women in  Metal is a documentary made by a woman interviewing and shooting other women.
It shows early female fronted bands in Brazilian´s Heavy Metal scene.
Menbers of important bands like Placenta (1985) and Valhalla (1989) present their thoughts about being metal women in the 80´s.
The Video is the first attempt to show the women´s representation in Heavy Metal, the start of a discussion about gender in that culture of Brazil."

Enjoy!

Black Metal Girls on www

What, when and where did it go wrong?

I dont know where to start... I have always been very frustrated with the position girls and women have in the Metal scene. And the more I read and study the subject, the more angry and disappointed I get. Over the boys AND the girls. I am not going to write a long essay about it. I just want to give a little taste on what you´ll find in large quantity on the internet if you search for Black Metal Girls.

Here is a warious screenshots:

First, let´s start with some comments and statements:
Of course, this is specific comments I have picked out because they have much negative, sexist and misogynist content. I know the whole picture is WAY more complicated and complex than this.
It is just to point a finger on a specific "problem".

Talking about Gallhammer.. It is important to talk shit about their looks as well.

This is what you´ll find if you google search Black Metal Girls.
(I like the Midnight dress thought)
And this is what you´ll meet on Facebook searching for Black Metal Girls.

And this one I got linked to me last week by a german friend... that t-shirt looks veeeery similar to something I´ve seen before.. right?  Good work goys.

So, Black Metal boys and girls...... grow up, please! What is wrong with being nice toward others or keeping soft-porn pictures and Black Metal separated... Something going in the wrong direction out there...

Now, something different...

In my research I´ve come across many different articles, blogs, news, forums and so on.
This is a essay I found today, it´s about a women, Beth Winegarner, who write about her entrance to the Metal scene. It´s pretty interesting to read, but the most interesting is the feedback!

Here is screenshots of a few of the comments...
