Art Academy Christmas Calendar

One of my projects this autumn has been this hand knitted patchwork blanked.
The whole thing started very simple, I wanted a new blanked for my bed. A Black Metal blanked with knitting on one side and band t-shirts on the other side. I´ve been knitting small black squares since May, and that part is is almost completely over. And I got all the shirts I need, thanks to a lot of friends and others (who and what all come later someday).

But someplace in the process I started wondering if it could be something more that "just a bed blanked" And now I want to do something with the t-shirts as well, before it ends upon my bed.

Then, after talking to many of the staff on the Art Academy and my fellow art students, it slowly became a new project. And somewhere along the way I got the news that some former student, Tito Frey, were putting up this Christmas Calendar on Oslo S (Oslo Central Station).
After some sketching, writing and emails, my work was selected to be shown. There were chosen 24 different art work in all. More info about the project in on the homepage to the Christmas Calendar. http://www.kunstakademiets-julekalender.no/about.html

On the 7th day of December my work was shown.
In a very stressed mood I gave it the title "Aura Noir" right before I left it over to somebody else November 19th.. I´m still not sure if it was a good idea or just totally stupid....
I just wanted the box to be black and dark... like the long nights we have here in Norway at this time. And Christmas is not so bright and shiny for everyone.

Here is the box, 07.12.12

One of the sketches....

How it looks like in the studio. got 180... I wish I had time to make more patches...

Me stitching it together in my studio.

This is how my new studio on school looks like by the way! I got plenty of space, at least compared to last year! On the wall you can see some of the drawings I´ve been working on this autumn as well. Not finished then, but finished now as I write.

An Indonesian Interview and news!

Not so long ago a girl from Indonesia, Hera Sin,  asked me if I wanted to do an interview for her blog, witch she is sharing together with two other girls.  I did... and here can you read all about it if you are interested! Visit the Blog: Hungry Heart
It´s also interesting to see witch pictures she picked out, since many of them are pretty old! One of them is even from 2008!

Besides from that... yesterday I was finished with an album cover job I´ve been working on for a band I like A LOT, GLITTERTIND!! :D They got to see it and they said they really liked it, witch of course made me to an extremely happy moose! I was so nervous about if they liked it or not, because I have´nt heard anything from their new music and upcoming album... eeeeeeeeh!

Glittertind: "Amazing work witch suits the lyrics of the album perfectly! We will publish it when the time is right."

I´m so relieved! :D

A weekend in Haugesund aka Helvette

In the weekend I visited my hometown Haugesund to spend some  time with family, since I had little time to do that last time I was there regarding the Karmøygeddon Metal Festival.

I also had another mission, to pick up a art work made by Dagfinn S. Bjelland and give him one of my drawings.

The most joyful Metal festival in Norway! :D
This year Karmøygeddon Metal Festival was going on for three days in my hometown Haugesund,  from the 19th to the 21th of April.
I am SOOOO tired at the moment! Hehe. But I´m really really satisfied and happy with the festival, as always :) EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!! And I would like to thank the main person Johnny Angelund and his fellow men for making this wonderful festival year after year!! You´re the best!
